Monthly Conference Call with Grape Growers on Mechanical Pruning Practices

Jon Held, second generation of the Held family that took over the 150 year-old Stone Hill Winery facility in Hermann, MO, will talk about the benefits and best practices of mechanical pruning in the vineyards. Jon graduated from Cal State Fresno with a degree in Enology, apprenticed in Switzerland and served as assistant winemaker at Andres Wines, Ltd. in Ontario, Canada before taking over as the president of his family’s winery, overseeing all aspects of production and operations. In 1994, Jon was recognized as the Winegrower of the Year at Wineries Unlimited. He currently serves on the Missouri Grape and Wine Advisory Board as well as on the Eastern Viticulture Consortium.
