Hands-on workshop for homeowners or new vineyard owners focusing on pruning basics and backyard grape growing.

Description

Grapes you pick yourself just taste so much more satisfying than store-bought. Getting started is daunting and what do you do when you have to start pruning your plants?? Join Jeff Stultz and Charlotte Oliver for a hands-on workshop to learn what you need to get started growing grape. Charlotte will provide some tips for getting vines going and tricks for keeping vines healthy and productive, including getting out in the vineyard to prune. Anyone with some space can have fresh grapes in the fall!

Held in-person at The Winery at Holy Cross Abbey, 3011 US-50, Cañon City, CO 81212

The event will be from 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM Mountain Time.

Registration will be limited to 35 people to allow space for participants to work in the vineyard.

Cost: $20, covers pruners, safety blade for checking buds, and workshop handouts

Speaker Biography

Charlotte works as the regional viticulture extension specialist for Colorado State University Extension, stationed in Grand Junction, Colorado. current program goal is to fill in the educational gaps between the active CSU research programs and the Colorado industry and hopefully start understanding the grape viruses across the state.
