Cold Damage Viticulture Seminar

March 29, 2017 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

On Wednesday, March 29 at 9:00 AM, Dr. Dami will present a half-day workshop at the Western Colorado Community College campus, 2508 Blichman Ave., Grand Junction, CO 81505 on “Mitigating Cold Damage of Grapevines.”  This is a free seminar for Colorado grape-growers, WCCC students and anyone interested in growing wine grapes.  Lunch will be available in Chez Lena, WCCC’s culinary program restaurant, after the presentation.  Attendance is free but space is limited, so please click here to register for the seminar.

Dr. Dami worked at the Orchard Mesa Research Station while earning his PhD in Horticulture at Colorado State University, so he is familiar with Colorado’s growing conditions. For the past 25 years, he has worked with both vinifera and cold-tolerant grape varieties in Ohio, which has experienced cold events more extreme and prolonged than recent events in Colorado.

This morning seminar is free, part of a USDA Specialty Crop Block Grant Program through the Colorado Dept. of Ag. WCCC’s Chez Luna restaurant will be open after the seminar for lunch.
