Four Corners

The Four Corners region is one of the “newest” growing areas of Colorado. Located primarily near Cortez, the warm temperatures and arid climate allow for the growth of a variety of grapes from Cabernet to French/American hybrids. In years past, much of the growing has focused inside of McElmo Canyon, but now growers are heading higher atop mesas to grow, in some cases, at elevations north of 6,000 feet. While winery production is low in the Four Corners, there are several growers in the area that are helping it become an important grape region of Colorado.
