Colorado Wine Festivals
Colorado Wine Week presented by Westminster Total Beverage will take over Denver once again, featuring a bevy of Colorado wine- and food-centric events throughout the city.
Farm to Turntable Kickoff Party, 7 p.m. June 2 at The Universal, Denver ($15)
The only thing better than farm to table is adding a DJ. The Universal, one of the city’s best breakfast veunes, will open up in the evening to celebrate the start of Colorado Wine Week. Several EatDenver chefs will prepare farm fresh flavors to serve alongside an all-Colorado bar, led by Colorado wine selections. It’ll all be paired with crazy good music. Passed apps and music incorporated in the ticket price; Colorado wine will be offered at happy hour pricing.
Colorado Wine Cocktail Celebration II, 4:30-6:30 p.m. at Green Russell, Denver ($12)
Four of the city’s top bartenders will be tasked with making terrior-inspired cocktails, bringing out the complex flavors of Colorado wine and mixing it with the bitters, spirits and other drink ingredients. Admission to the event includes one complimentary Colorado wine cocktail. Attendees can taste several other offerings and snacks from a cash bar.
Craft Colorado, 6 p.m. June 6, Root 25, Denver Tech Center ($30)
Three food stations, 5 courses and a mix of a dozen Colorado wines, beers and spirits will settle once and for all which beverage pairs best with food.
The Craft Colorado throwdown takes place at Root 25 Taphouse & Kitchen, the new local-inpsired restaurant at the recently renovated Hyatt Regency DTC. This event captures all three during a cocktail-style food- and drink-pairing extravaganza. Colorado wine, beer and spirits will each get a station paired to delicious small bites. You vote on the winner between the three alcohols.
Governor’s Cup Awards Presentation and Reception, 4:30 p.m. June 7, Metro State ($55)
Taste some of the best from the annual Governor’s Cup wine competition — and expect to see the winning winemaker drink the Best of Show wine straight from the cup! Twenty wineries will pour samples and hors d’oeuvres will be served.
Colorado Urban Winefest presented by Westminster Total, 1 p.m. June 8, Infinity Park, Glendale ($40 GA | $120 VIP)
A celebration of Colorado wine and food, top restaurants will join dozens of Colorado wineries in creating the ultimate in local drinking and eating. The ticket will get entrants free samples of hundreds of Colorado wines, live cooking demonstrations with some of Denver’s best chefs, live entertainment, and the chance to purchase wine direct from Colorado’s talented winemakers.
